There are certain things doctors look for that help them to figure out whether or not their symptoms are MS or another condition altogether.
There is a varied list of symptoms to indicate multiple sclerosis. One or more of these will always be present, but the manifestation of these symptoms depends on how severe the condition is. Symptoms can range anywhere from mild to severe, can persist as a permanent condition, and can last from days to weeks or even months at a time.

These are the symptoms that you or your loved one’s doctor will be looking for. These signs are not always noticeable. However, it may also be that a person just doesn’t want to admit that they are having any problems. It is imperative that the person going through testing is totally honest with the doctor. If it is a loved one, try to build their trust in you so they will feel free to confide in you as well.
When you feel like you can have open and honest communication with them, encourage them to tell you about what they are experiencing. They may not be comfortable talking to others, and this may be a difficult thing for you to have to talk about. However, it’s a conversation that could help them get through these difficult times.
We hope that you, or someone you care about, will never receive a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis.
