Neck pain is often related to a part of the body that we spend little time thinking about—our nerves. They play a vital role in health and send messages to and from every part of the body. The brainstem, located where the skull meets the neck, is a key part of this internal information highway in the body. Disruptions of this delicate system can cause various neurological issues, problems with the ears, and pain.
One person who has really pioneered the connection between neck problems and overall health is Dr. Michael Burcon. I want to encourage you to include everything in your patient history and let your health care provider determine what is relevant.
