Shoulder Pain and You

Should pain, muscle strain, Pain ReliefThe Underlying Cause of Your Shoulder Pain

Did you know you can injure your shoulder and not know it? Did you know you can stay injured for days, week, months, or even years; and the pain just becomes part of your daily routine? Sometimes, things we do everyday cause stress on our bodies, and that stress causes pain. That shoulder pain is the result of an injury that happened because of overuse of joints or other tissue.

When pain occurs, it happens because of a many different types of injuries. Here's a description of a few of the reasons you may have recently started feeling a gradual pain in your shoulders.

Causes of Shoulder Pain

  • Bursitis – This is inflammation of the Bursa sac, which is a sac of fluid that cushions and lubricates the joint area between bones, tendons, ligaments, muscles, or skin. It can be the result of constant or repeated pressure, repeated twisting, rapid movement of joints, trauma, infection, or systemic diseases such as Arthritis.
  • Tendinitis – This is the inflammation of fibers that connect our muscles to our bones. This injury most often occurs near joints like the shoulder, elbow, knee, or shoulder. Similar injuries that may occur are Tendinosis (A tiny tear in the tissue in and around the tendon) and Tendinopathy (The two preceding problems together).
  • Muscle Strain – Also called a pulled muscle, this is the result of overstretching a muscle, and it can range in severity. It often leads to pain and tenderness that worsens with movement, swelling and bruising, normal or limited muscle movement, or a bulge or deformity at the place of the tear.

Now, you will want to take back control of your life and live the pain free life you were meant to live. The best way to do that is to entrust your care to an upper cervical chiropractor. Your injury can frequently be due to a misalignment in your neck that is restricting communication from your brain to your body. That miscommunication has led to various injuries.

Though, the good news is an upper cervical specialist can realign your upper neck vertebrae. Your brain communicates with your body via the brainstem. When your upper neck vertebrae is out of alignment by just ΒΌ of a millimeter, that communication system is hindered. Realigning those two vertebrae, then, restores your body's communication system.
